TIRE REPAIR and REPLACEMENT

It is almost inevitable to encounter a tire containing a nail or other sharp object. To check if your tire has lost air, the first thing you need to do is to check its pressure. If your tire pressure is very low, it's time to take the tire off and put the spare on the other side. You can also call roadside service and we'll help you install the spare. Our number is:  336-203-8383

Why should I wait to get a new tire?

You should have a spare in your car immediately. It is important to remember that moving can cause the tire to burst. This could put the driver in danger. A second reason is that moisture can build up on the ground, such as snow, rain, or even ice. If this happens, the steel strip can become corroded and may no longer be able to support the tire. It would also be more trouble than dealing with a punctured tyre because the entire piece (tire, tubes and wheel well) would have to be replaced.

A mechanic like A1 Towing NYC will take your vehicle in and remove the tires. They can then determine if the tire is able to be repaired or needs to be replaced. A puncture less than 14 inch from the tire's tread is acceptable for repair. A tire cannot be repaired more than once. However, if the puncture is less than one-fifth of an inch from the tread, the tire will need to have its entire life replaced. The reason for this is that the tire is at greater risk of burstiful if the damage from the previous puncture is close to the new puncture. If the tire can still be repaired, it will be fitted either with a plug, patch or a valve stem.

What can I do to fix my tire if it isn't repairable?

It's time to think about replacing your tire in the unlikely event that it can't be fixed. A1 Towing tire experts would be delighted to talk with you about the different types for all-wheel and front-wheel drive cars as well as rear-wheel and rear-wheel drive cars. They can also help you with snow tires for snowy days.

These tires are generally divided into five groups: Winter tires; Summer tires; All-Season and Performance tires; Truck tires.

SUMMERTIRES

If you reside on the west side of the country, or if your goal is to get the best traction during the hot summer days , summer tires are for you. They will not provide adequate traction in torrential downpours.

Winter Tires

Winter tires are made from a special rubber with tough treads. This allows them to grip on cold weather conditions like ice, snow and sleet. They lose their traction in the summer and it is a good idea that you switch to all-season tires or summer tires when the winter season is over.

ALLSEASON ITEMS

If you live in arid areas, all-season tire are good to have on your car. They are not recommended for winter driving, as they can cause damage to your vehicle's performance and acceleration.

PERFORMANCE ITIRES

These performance tires are often found on sports cars. You can find them in four versions: general performance and high-performance as well as ultra high-performance and competition for racing. The better your vehicle's traction, the faster you can drive it, the higher the performance.

TRUCK TIRE

There are five main categories for truck tires: utility, allterrain (highway use), performance, off-road and highway. Which type of truck you drive and what activities your truck can perform will affect which tire you choose.
